Kabul Restaurant- Southall

Located in Southall, this is the best place to try Afghani food. My sister took me to this place when I first came to London and I go back to eat there even now considering it’s a bit of a journey for me. Two people can eat under £20. It’s a very economical place to eat at. Their decor isn’t that amazing. Very basic. Gives a very old school upgraded “dhaba” vibe. Upgrade being the tables and the chairs. I would recommend anyone to go and try their food at least once! Please check out their website for more information.

Their speciality is the “Kabuli Maheecha” so make sure you order that. It is a steamed leg of lamb with the softest meat literally falling off the bone served with aromatic brown rice (traditionally called a pulao) with raisins and carrots. They do some amazing “chappali” kebabs which means flattened mince meat kebabs- juicy and delicious concoction. If you’re looking for a good hearty meal with lots of flavourful meat and rice dishes which is not heavy on the pocket then this place is a must!

For more information on the restaurant and their menu, please check their website here. (pleasantly surprised they had a website! :D)

    1. You should definitely try it. It is one of those cuisines which caters to people of all tastes. You will find the not so spicy and really spicy food, the meaty and the vegetarian- the choice is immense and every bite is full of flavour. Trying their chappali kebab is a must!! That’s one of their specialities 🙂 Let me know how it goes xx
