If you have not been to Spitalfields Market yet, then you need to go there. An open market for merchandise of all sorts, this is a lovely contrast to Camden Town which can be a bit overwhelming at times. A really good thing about that place is that all the stalls are surrounded by different places to eat- restaurants and pop up food stalls. While there are a lot of chain restaurants in the market, I still prefer to eat from one of the food stalls.
If you fancy something spicy and full of flavour but not Indian or Pakistani (Brick Lane) or Fish and Chips (the famous Poppies around the corner), then I would definitely recommend trying Café Caribbean. At one point I was addicted to eating there and dreaming of their jerk chicken with beans and rice all the time. Several trips later, I think I can survive without it now.
The jerk chicken is tender and juicy with the right amount of spice. I always find their portions in the box is always bigger than what they put on the paper plates. So if you’re starving then get the food in the takeaway box. I have tried their dumplings as well which are crunchy from the outside and nice and warm from the inside. If you fancy, you can also try their beef or chicken patties or fried plantain as an accompaniment. To be honest, the main meal is always more than enough for me .(FYI:Their meat is Halal)
SO if you’re around Liverpool Street area, then do give this place a go and let me know how you got on. You can follow Cafe Caribbean on twitter as well. ( @Cafe_Caribbean) Show these guys some love!

I agree – Spitalfields is a much less chaotic and touristy place than certain other markets in London. Just wrote a post on it myself. Will give Cafe Caribbean a try next time I’m there.
