Your guide to Mykonos… on a budget

Your guide to Mykonos… on a budget

Mykonos is one of those places which is on pretty much everyone’s list of places to travel to. Your social media feeds must be clogging up with those blue doors, sweeping views of the beautiful yet simple white architecture mixed with insane photos of food…right about now! ?

Yes, it’s a dream and yes you may hear you need to remortgage your house ?, but don’t worry. I’ve got you covered ??‍♀️ before you get overwhelmed, just remember whatever or wherever you decide to explore in Mykonos, you won’t be disappointed. I consulted a lot of online travel blogs and opinions before finally narrowing down the options and yes there was a spreadsheet involved ??

Budget: Approx. £1500 incl. flights, accommodation and spending money ?. You can preempt most of the costs by booking the accommodation and flights in advance.

What you should do in advance: I’ll detail in the blog post the places we went to eat at and explored during the day. However you should book some places in advance if you’re planning to go there.

  • Scorpios (book a cabana. We paid €90 for 3 or you could also book a cabana at €30 pp)
  • Katerina’s bar, Little Venice (book the tables at the back on their tiny terrace overlooking the Aegean Sea. They are limited so book to avoid disappointment)

When did we travel: End of September, the weather was still perfect and thankfully Mykonos wasn’t as rammed as usual. Win win! ?

Where did we stay: Yakinthos Residence, a family owned and managed compound located in Panormos bay, one of the most famous beaches in Mykonos. They are 6KM Mykonos Town. So while we could enjoy the chilled vibe of the villa, swim some laps in their private pool ?‍♀️ or lounge/ sun bathe, we could also drive down to the hustle and bustle of Mykonos Town.

I filmed a quick time lapse while we were out and about ??

Massive shoutout to Christos and his family for running such an amazing summer home ? in Mykonos. We were luckily upgraded to a 2 bedrooms residence ✌? (yaaaassss!)

On our day of arrival, Christos came to personally pick us up at the airport. On arrival at the residence, we were given a quick tour of the gorgeous premises. They also kindly arranged for our rental car through their trusted providers.

Every day we were treated to their “room service breakfast ? ” which we got to choose every day in advance, along with fresh pastries and bread ? from one of their best local bakery, Veneti. Writing this is making me salivate and miss that amazing time!! ?

It was a DREAM staying at Yakinthos Residence ? the best hosts and they took care of our every need.

Stayed tuned for Part 2 on where to eat and party ? in Mykonos. ?
