If you need a place to for delicious food, stunning decor, cocktails and a boogie ? after to burn off all that food- then Hovarda is the place to be. I’ve been to their bar upstairs just for drinks- cool vibe, good for people watching (if that’s your thing ?) and they always have something going on for e.g. residencies of various DJs. So you could end up spending a whole evening there.
That said! I loved their food. I was a bit unsure whether it’s going to be one of those ‘all pomp and no substance’ kind of places but I was pleasantly surprised. I would happily go back! ?

Between the two of us, we ordered a few starters from their Meze section. Loved the portion size and definitely larger than the regular meze size small plates you usually get when sharing. So much so, we had to takeaway some of the starters (which I don’t think the waiter was happy about ?) We’re #teamnowaste ?
The stand out dish for me was the Stone Bass I ordered. I loved it so much that I still think about it and want to go back and eat it again. The stone bass was cooked to perfection- silky texture, seasoned well and packed with subtle flavours. I hope they never take this dish off their menu.
Fried squid was another dish that stood out- the batter was crispy yet light. I could literally snack on them, they were so moorish ?
