Normah of Normah's Malaysian food, Queensway

A family owned Malaysian restaurant run by Normah herself and her family. Established in 2015, I can’t believe it only came on my radar at the end of 2019, even though I don’t live that far from it. Normah’s quietly tucked away in the market next to the ever-popular bowling alley and ice rink in Queensway.

Interior is really humble and laid back. Zero fuss, 100% great food guaranteed.

It’s best to call in advance and book your place. Please note, Beef Rendang is available during the Dinner service or best to check when you’re booking if it will be ready for lunch.

On a side note: I never realised how massive Queensway Market is ? it’s like a never ending maze of some delicious places; cuisines ranging from Brazilian food, to Malay to Uzbek…I need to do a full day of eating here ?

When I first moved to London, Bayswater and Queensway was my go-to for Malaysian and Indonesian food albeit tourist traps included ?

We ordered so much food between the two of us- but we managed to finish it all ? The Prawn Laksa was the highlight, as well as the roti canal and the goddam fried chicken- juicy, and crispy on the outside. I can’t wait to go back and yes I do order their takeaway via Deliveroo too. However, you need to go there and eat- it’s an experience and the rotis are oh so fresh! ?

I would probably…actually definitely call this my favourite Malaysian restaurant in London! ?
