Sweet Things- Primrose Hill

Sweet Things- Primrose Hill

There is NOTHING better than a cold English afternoon spent strolling in Primrose Hill and then finding a small cakery tucked away on the high street.

So I came across Sweet Things. The brainchild of a City worker, Natalie Allen, it is such a lovely place to sit and enjoy a preservative free dessert. It is always great to come across businesses that have been set up by someone who left a mundane career to follow their passion because then you know there is passion, truth and honesty in whatever this person is selling.

In the owner’s words:

“The Story So Far …

I gave up my job as a Project Manager in the City to set up Sweet Things in September 2005. I wanted to pursue my real passion: I’m addicted to cakes – I’m proud to say it!

I started to develop the idea for Sweet Things as a result of visiting farmers’ markets and watching the emergence of small independent food producers who, like me, take taste, provenance and fresh natural ingredients very seriously.

I became frustrated with the sweet offerings in coffee shops which were usually mass produced, packed with additives and lacked that “home baked” touch…I longed for cakes like grandma used to make!

All our cakes are lovingly handmade using only the finest natural ingredients. No additives or preservatives. No hydrogenated vegetable fats. Free from any nasties.

Taste a Sweet Thing and you’ll be addicted too!”

They offer gluten free desserts as well so that’s a big plus. If you know someone who’s got a sweet tooth then good news- sweet things delivers any where in London or their ready made gift packs can be shipped nationwide. Valentine’s Day anyone?! Ahem!!

Anyway, enough talking. You guys need to visit this place or check out their website beforehand: Sweet Things

I had a slice of their chocolate cake (I am craving it so much even as I write this post!) and oreo cupcake accompanied by a cappuccino and a hot chocolate! Yum!

Okay so you guys ogle away at the photos and definitely visit this place. They don’t have ample space to sit down so choose a time strategically πŸ˜› Lots of love. And feedback is always welcome! πŸ™‚ xx
